Overview

Refine forage soybeans were selected for their late season, leafy characteristics. In northern and transitional regions of the United States, Forage soybeans will retain their leaves while other varieties used for grain production will drop their forage and expose the pods. Since Deer Creek's forage soybeans rarely lose their leaves, they will provide a lush forage well into the fall (or bow hunting season). For Southern regions, we recommend waiting to plant until July or August to maintain this late leafy characteristic.

Do you need an inoculant for the soybeans/ and a sticker so they adhere to the seed? My field is sandy pH 6.5 and never has been planted with soybeans if so do you sell one? Dan
Unless soybeans have been grown in the field within the last three years, it is best to inoculate seed right before planting. Soybean inoculant contains beneficial rhizobia that is specific to this plant species. Plants in the legume family benefit tremendously from adding rhizobacteria or “inoculant” to the seed. The bacteria added to the seed forms a mutually beneficial symbiotic relationship with the legume plant roots. The bacteria help capture nitrogen from the air and makes it available to the plant roots which improves overall plant growth. We do carry a full selection of soybean inoculants. Check out the inoculant page for more details.
