I have a pasture with little variety for my new alpaca. I want to add this seed to give them some variety. How do you recommend planting this in an already established grassy area? Or do you recommend something different?
The answer to this question really depends on where you live. This mix does best in the Midwest or Northeast United States where spring provides adequate moisture and cooler temps before moving into summer. Drier states like the Dakotas or the Southwest United States may not want to use this blend. The key to successfully planting this mix into an already established grassy area is having good seed to soil contact and adequate moisture. In the spring, we recommend no-till drilling it into your pasture and in the fall, you could no-till or even broadcast and let the snow do the work for you (although you would want to increase your seeding rate a bit to do this.)
